How the answering machine works
1.You prepare your greeting
You record it in your own voice or type the text for Heilo to read out.
2.Heilo plays the greeting
When you don't pick up, your carrier forwards the call to Heilo. The caller hears the greeting and leaves a message.
3.The message waits in the dashboard
Once processed, you will find the recording, the message transcript and a summary there.

Frequently asked questions
Does Heilo talk to the caller?
No. Heilo plays your greeting and saves the message, but it doesn't hold a conversation. You talk to the customer yourself when you call back.
Can I have a different greeting outside working hours?
Yes. You set the greeting in the number's settings: it can be your own recording or typed text. You can also set a schedule, for example one greeting during working hours and another in the evening.
How do I set up forwarding of missed calls?
With your carrier, you turn on forwarding of missed calls to your Heilo number. You usually do it with a code or in your phone's settings. Check whether your plan includes it. You'll find a step-by-step guide below the questions.
Do I need a phone app?
No. Heilo works through call forwarding, so it will work on an Android phone, an iPhone or a landline, as long as your carrier supports forwarding. You open the dashboard in a browser.
How will I know about a new message?
Once processed, the message waits in the dashboard: the recording, transcript and summary. SMS notifications depend on the number's settings. If the caller doesn't leave a message, there is nothing to process.
How much does the answering machine cost?
Heilo Voicemail costs PLN 49 net per month per number, and VAT is added at checkout. Your carrier may charge separately for forwarding, so check your plan.
